I’m Bryce Emo, the founder of Sidecar. As a former CRO at private companies across Social Media (MySpace), MarTech (Basis) and Big Data (4C), I have sought funding for option exercise as well as liquidity against my private shares. In the past several years some outstanding companies have stepped forward to provide liquidity solutions to private shareholders. I’ve spent the past 3 years leading sales for one of the industry’s largest. As I looked across the ecosystem I saw a need for a company that is focused on educating and advocating on behalf of employees & investors. Through our relationship with Emerson Equity LLC, a registered broker-dealer, we help shareholders vet the various solutions and providers to find a solution. This is why I created Sidecar, and it is our mission.

Many shareholders don’t understand the value of their equity. This means shareholders are likely discounting it’s value. Employees who don’t feel the value of their equity are more likely to seek additional cash compensation and/or choose to leave the company for a perceived better deal.
We work with CFOs and Founders to construct education programs for their employees & shareholders so they understand how their equity functions, what the value may be in the marketplace and which partners are interested in getting involved.
When the time comes for private liquidity we help you understand the various solutions available in the marketplace (share sales, structured products, etc.) and introduce you to the various liquidity providers. Our team will meet with each interested shareholder to help them comprehend the different structures so they are informed when they choose a solution and partner.
